Columbus, Ohio – Junior sprinter Karrington Winters had an excellent showing at the Kentucky Invitational this past Saturday. Her two first-place showings led to two No. 1 NCAA ranked marks and secured two new spots in the record books for Ohio State along with earning her the title of Big Ten Track Athlete of the Week.
In the 400m dash, Winters clocked in a personal-best time of 53.41, which allowed her claim gold in a field of 45 athletes. Winters 400m dash time (53.41) is the fifth-fastest time in Ohio State track & field history. During the last race of the meet, Winters led off for the Buckeyes 4x4m relay team where they registered the fastest time in the NCAA. Winters, along with Syaira Richardson, Halimah Barlow and Maggie Barrie, went on to claim gold in the race with a time of 3:34.92, which is the third-fastest readout in program history.
