Conditions in North Carolina not up to par, Buckeyes next play the end of March
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Pinehurst Challenge, to be held March 2-3 at Pinehurst Course No. 6 in Pinehurst, N.C., has been cancelled due to inclement weather. The Ohio State women’s golf team will next play in the Liz Murphey Collegiate Challenge, March 27-29.
The decision to cancel the 36-hole event was made after snow and ice blanketed the area Sunday evening. It was determined that the course would not be playable Monday with temperatures hovering all day around freezing and no chance for the snow and ice to melt.
Officials decided that the course would not be ready Tuesday as well because of temperatures dropping and not reaching above freezing until that afternoon.
