COLUMBUS, Ohio – After carding a round one score of 4-under 284 on the par 72, 6,246-yard Scarlet Course, UCLA currently leads the 21-team NCAA Central Regional field by an 11-stroke margin.
After 18 holes, UCLA, currently ranked No. 2 in the country, also holds the Top 3 individual positions. Stephanie Kono and Maria Jose Uribe (-3) are tied for the lead and Sydnee Michaels (-2) is second.
Also sitting atop the leaderboard are Michigan State and Purdue, tied for second at 295. Both teams currently have two athletes in the Top 10.
A few strokes back from Michigan State and Purdue are Oklahoma State and Wake Forest. Oklahoma State carded a team score of 297 to sit in fourth-place, while Wake Forest is currently in fifth at 298.
