COLUMBUS, Ohio– Vince Ng, a senior on the Ohio State men’s tennis team, defeated Henrik Soderberg of SMU, 7-5, 6-3, to advance to the main draw of the ITA All-American Championships in Chattanooga, Tenn. In his next match, Ng will face Baylor’s Rainer Neurhohr. In the 2002 All-American Tournament, Ng has a record of 6-0.

“Vince Ng is off to a great start,” Ty Tucker, Ohio State head men’s tennis coach, said. “He is the hardest worker in the history of Ohio State tennis. It is good to see that his hard work is paying off. We hope he can become at Top 50 player for us this season.”

Because he is ranked No. 21 in the nation, Buckeye junior Jeremy Wurtzman has qualified for the main draw of the tournament. Wurtzman will play Tulane’s Victor Romero, who is ranked No. 39 in the nation.

The main draw will begin play on Thursday and run through Sunday at the Champions Club in Chattanooga, Tenn.
