WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. – The USTA named the U.S. teams Wednesday that will represent the United States at the 2005 World University Games tennis competition, Aug. 11-21 in Izmir, Turkey.

U.S. Men’s Coach David Roditi has selected John Isner of Greensboro, N.C. (University of Georgia), Ryler DeHeart of Tampa, Fla. (University of Illinois), Scott Green of North Canton, Ohio (Ohio State University) and Ross Wilson of Toledo, Ohio (Ohio State University).

U.S. Women’s Coach Lori McNeil has selected Amber Liu of La Mesa, Calif., and Stanford University, Jen! nifer Magley of Bradenton, Fla., and University of Florida, and Catrina and Christian Thompson of Las Vegas and the University of Notre Dame.

Isner, DeHeart, Magley and Liu will compete in the singles competition, while Green and Wilson and the Thompson twins will compete in doubles.

Isner completed his sophomore season at Georgia winning the NCAA doubles title with teammate Antonio Ruiz. He finished the 2005 season ranked No. 13 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association singles rankings.

DeHeart completed his junior season at Illinois with a No. 7 ITA singles ranking, after holding the No. 1 ranking in February. He won the 2005 ITA National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships and was named the 2005 Big Ten Player of The Year.

Green and Wilson completed their junior seasons at Ohio State with a No. 6 ITA doubles ranking. The duo won three national titles last season – the ITA National Summer Championships, the ITA All-American Championships and the ITA National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships.

Magley finished her junior season at Florida ranked No. 5 in the ITA singles rankings. She was a 2005 NCAA singles semifinalist and was a member of the ITA All-Star Team that traveled to China last summer for a series of exhibition matches.

Liu finished her junior season at Stanford with an ITA singles ranking of No. 7. She won the NCAA singles title in 2003 and 2004 and led Stanford to NCAA team titles during the last two years.
