%^$ COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women’s gymnastics team’s 2000 season came to an end Thursday afternoon at the NCAA Championships in Boise, Idaho, as Jill Tucker (So., Tallmadge, Ohio) and Rickee Wirtzberger (Fr., Madison, Ohio) failed to advance to the NCAA Championships floor exercise finals.%^$

%^$ Wirtzberger tallied a 9.725 during her floor routine, while Tucker scored a 9.275 in her performance. Four gymnasts scored a 9.9 in the first session to advance to the individual event championships on Saturday night.%^$

%^$ Tucker and Wirtzberger, making their first career NCAA Championship appearances, were two of just four student-athletes to qualify as individual event specialists from a non-qualifying team, joining Central Michigan’s Nicole Liphardt (floor exercise) and Stanford’s Katy Herbert (balance beam). The four qualified for the championships by virtue of winning their events at the regional meet.%^$
