%^$COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State senior gymnast Jill Tucker (Chagrin Falls, Ohio/Chagrin Falls) ended her fine career Saturday at the NCAA Central Region Championships in Baton Rouge, La. Tucker, competing in the vault and floor exercise competitions, fell short of qualifying for the national championships in both events.%^$

%^$Tucker scored 9.775 on vault as she tied for 16th place. Florida’s Orley Szmuch won the vault crown with a score of 9.95. Tucker recorded a fall on floor en route to a score of 9.375. Louisiana State’s Nikki Arnstad took the floor title with a perfect score of 10.0.%^$

%^$In the team competition, LSU took first place with a score of 196.45, while Florida nabbed runner-up laurels with a 195.9. The teams will represent the Central Region at the NCAA Championships.%^$
