COLUMBUS, Ohio -Three members of the Ohio State women’s golf team were awarded Big Ten postseason honors, the league office announced Tuesday. Junior Vicky Villanueva and sophomore co-captain Rachel Rohanna were named Second Team All-Big Ten, while senior co-captain In Hong Lim earned Ohio State’s Sportsmanship Award.

Purdue’s Numa Gulyanamitta was named Big Ten Player of the Year with Indiana’s Lindsay Gahm garnered Big Ten Freshman of the Year honors. Northwestern’s Emily Fletcher and Wisconsin’s Todd Oehrlein were honored with Co-Coach of the Year.

Rohanna, of Waynesburg, Pa., leads the team with a 75.69 stroke average this season. She’s played in 33 rounds and has had four under par for the Buckeyes. Rohanna’s best finish came at the Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invite in Albuquerque, N.M., as she took second with a 7-under 212. Recently, she finished tied for 14th at the 2011 Big Ten Championships this past weekend.

Villanueva, a Chacabuco, Argentina, product, is second on the squad with a 75.80 stroke average with 31 rounds under her belt. On March 3, she was named Big Ten Golfer of the Week for her runner-up finish at the SunTrust Gator Women’s Golf Invitational, finishing with a 2-over 212. Villanueva was one of three Buckeyes to conclude the conference championship tied for 11th, recording a 13-over 301.

Lim, the Buckeyes’ lone senior this season, also finished tied for 11th at the conference tournament this past weekend. The Melbourne, Australia, native has had two top 10 finishes for Ohio State this year, including a fourth-place finish at the Lady Northern Invitational with a 1-under 215.

Ohio State earned its 17th-consecutive bid to an NCAA Division I Women’s Golf Regional and will travel to Notre Dame, Ind., to compete in the 54-hole Central Regional May 5-7.
