DALLAS, Texas – Unplayable conditions due to inclement weather has forced the cancellation of the final two rounds at the Trinity Forest Invitational. The No. 25 Ohio State women’s golf teams now finishes the 18-hole event in a tie for third place out of 14 teams. A complete recap from the first and only round can be found below.

The No. 25 Ohio State University women’s golf team battled 13 other schools and the elements in Monday’s weather-delayed opening round at the Trinity Forest Invitational. Ohio State emerged from the moist day at +18 (306) and tied for third place. The Buckeyes are back just two strokes from the top of the team standings with only one round to play after the challenging conditions forced an event shrinkage to 36 total holes.

Ohio State dropped in a dozen birdies, tied for the highest mark in the field. Jaclyn Lee Katja Pogacar paced the squad individually with four apiece, ranking second overall. Pogacar birdied three of her first six holes and rode the hot start to a share of third place on the 75-player leaderboard. The Slovenian senior, ranked 81st nationally, posted a 2-over 74 to finish ahead of six fellow Golfstat Top-100 players, including teammates 27th-ranked Jessica Povasnik and No. 91 Lee. The latter Buckeye pair came in right behind Pogacar at 75 (+3), each grabbing a pair of sixth place overall. Porvasnik recorded one of six eagles in the opening round.

Zoe-Beth Brake contributed the fourth score to the team tally with a 10-over 82. She is tied for 52nd entering Tuesday’s final round. In addition, Niki Schroeder (+12) and Alex Wright (+12) playing as an individual, rounded of the Buckeye contingency in Dallas.
