COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State tennis players Mikael Torpegaard and Hugo Di Feo are set to compete this weekend in the 2016 USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing, N.Y.
Torpegaard, who is ranked No. 1 in the ITA fall rankings, is the No. 1-seed in the event and will take on Texas’ Christain Sigsgaard in the opening round. Di Feo opens his tournament on Thursday afternoon against North Carolina’s Ronnie Schneider. Both matches are set to begin at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday.
Torpegaard and Di Feo both earned their trip to this fall’s ultimate event by virtue of their performances at the season-opening ITA All-American Championship. Di Feo made a run all the way to the championship match while Torpegaard advanced to the quarterfinals. Sigsgaard made his way through the All-American qualifying and advanced to the main draw semifinals. Schneider received one of six At-Large selections.
The matches will be streamed live for a fee on FloTennis.com. Live scoring of each match will be also be provided free of charge.
