Tips for Buckeye Fans to Avoid Ticket Fraud

Share

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State Athletics Ticket Office is already seeing a significant increase in counterfeit tickets in the print-at-home format purchased from non-authorized sources for home football games this season. Because of this, the Department of Athletics cautions fans to ONLY purchase tickets through authorized sources.

  • The Ohio State Athletics Ticket OfficeTicketmaster, and Buckeyes Ticket Exchangeare the only authorized sources for tickets to Ohio State Athletics events.
  • Fans should review Ohio State’s Ticket Protection Tips and also #coverthecode when sharing pictures of their tickets on social media.
  • Fans are highly encouraged to utilize mobile entry – tickets from My Ohio State Buckeyes Account and Ticketmaster.com can both be accessed via iOS or Android device for entry into Ohio Stadium

Fans with iOS devices are encouraged to add their mobile ticket(s) to their Apple Wallet since Ohio Stadium does not have public WiFi. After viewing the ticket on a mobile phone, tap ‘Add to Apple Wallet’ and then tap ‘Add’ on the next screen.

Fans purchasing tickets from unauthorized sources (including StubHub, Vivid Seats, CraigsList, EBay, and ticket brokers) assume the risk that tickets purchased are counterfeit or the barcodes have been invalidated. Any fan attempting to enter Ohio Stadium with counterfeit or invalid barcodes will be denied entry. This includes, but is not limited to, fans entering the game with print-at-home tickets that have been altered in any way. More information on accessing mobile tickets can be found in Ohio State’s Digital Ticketing Guide.

Ticket holders wishing to transfer or sell their valid Ohio State tickets have many options available through their online ticket accounts. Details on mobile entry, ticket forwarding, and ticket resale options can be found in Ohio State’s Digital Ticketing Guide.
