COLUMBUS, Ohio –
Three standouts from the United States Hockey League have signed National Letters of Intent to join the Ohio State men’s hockey team beginning in Fall 2016, Steve Rohlik, Ohio State head coach, announced. The trio of forwards includes Ronnie Hein (Chelsea, Mich./Waterloo Black Hawks), Tanner Laczynski (Shorewood, Ill./Chicago Steel) and Sam McCormick (De Pere, Wis./Madison Capitols).

In second season with Waterloo Black Hawks in the USHL and had 19 points, with four goals and 15 assists, through first 22 games … team captain for the Black Hawks … began 2014-15 with the Aberdeen Wings in the NAHL, scoring 17 points on eight goals and nine assists in 33 games, before moving to the USHL Black Hawks; saw action in 33 games and had 21 points, with 11 goals and 10 assists … played two NAHL games with the Corpus Christi IceRays in 2013-14 … member of the North American Prospects Hockey League (NAPHL) Lansing Capitals before joining the Aberdeen Wings, posting 30 points (16 goals, 14 assists) in 23 games with the Capitals.

In second full season with Madison Capitols of the USHL … 14 points, with eight goals and six assists, through his first 23 games this season … skated in 60 regular season games for the Capitols in 2014-15, recording 15 goals, 16 assists and 31 points … skated in one game for USHL Sioux City Musketeers in 2013-14 … played for Notre Dame High Academy and Team Wisconsin … 65 points (26 goals, 39 assists) in 24 regular season games in final season with Notre Dame Academy in 2013-14 … squad reached state semifinals each of his last three years and won title in 2012 … brother, Max, played for the Buckeyes from 2012-14 and made his NHL debut this season with the Ottawa Senators.
