COLUMBUS, Ohio. – Ohio State seniors Will Grimmer, Caleb Ramirez and Daniel Wetterich have all been named Big Ten Preseason Honorees which were announced by the conference on Wednesday.
All three golfers have played well in the recent months and looked poised to lead the Buckeyes in their final seasons. Wetterich earned All-Big Ten accolades last spring and represented the Ohio State in the NCAA Central Regional. Grimmer finished fourth at the Big Ten Championship in the spring, qualified for and made the cut in the US Open at Shinnecock and then also advanced to match play at the US Amateur at Pebble Beach. Ramirez also qualified for the US Amateur in his home state and he too advanced to match play.
The Buckeyes return seven letterwinners from last year’s team and welcome a pair of talented freshmen. The season begins in just over two weeks with the Northern Intercollegiate at Rich Harvest Farms which just hosted the NCAA Championships in 2017 and will host the 2020 Big Ten Championships.
