Sept. 8, 2016
The No. 4-ranked Ohio State football team takes to the Ohio Stadium field for week No. 2 fresh off putting on quite a show of its own via a 77-point output in a victory over Bowling Green to open the 2016 season. While an encore will be a tall order vs. Tulsa Saturday (3:30 p.m. / ABC-TV), there will be plenty going on in The Shoe should the Buckeyes not press for an 80-point total for a second-consecutive week 😉.
Packed at the Half: Hall of Fame, Scarlet and Gray Celebration … oh yeah, and TBDBITL
This weekend, the Varsity O Association will be inducting eight new Buckeyes into the Ohio State Athletics Hall of Fame. The 2016 Class features: Justin Kronauge (men’s tennis), John Machado (baseball), Jantel Lavender (women’s basketball), Randall Larson (diving), Sam Marder (softball), Dan Taylor (men’s track and field), Evan Turner (men’s basketball) and Paul Zelenak (pistol). Honoree ceremonies will lead off halftime festivities Saturday. Click here to learn more about the Ohio State Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2016.
Following the HOFers, student-athletes donning all scarlet and gray will flood the Ohio Stadium field to celebrate our more than 1,000 current Buckeyes competing in the department’s 36 varsity sports. Joined by The Best Damn Band in the Land, it’s a spectacle any OSU fan does not want to miss.
etter Recognize In conjunction with the scarlet and gray student-athlete celebration, Ohio State will pay homage to many of its outstanding accomplishments from the 2015-16 athletics season that saw the Buckeyes rank No. 2 nationally in the Directors’ Cup Standings for overall department performance across all sports. Look for numerous individual national champion and coach of the year salutes during breaks in the action.
