For the first time since last November, Buckeye football returns to Ohio Stadium Saturday afternoon with the annual spring game. Kickoff is set for approximately 11:45 a.m. with live TV coverage provided by BTN. Ticket sales for the game have reached capacity in The Shoe, so those fortunate enough to secure a ticket can look forward to the following festivities.
The Buckeyes will warm up the Ohio Stadium turf set for a four-quarter affair between the Scarlet and the Gray squads. Each period will be 10 minutes in duration with the third and fourth stanzas operating on a running clock. The Buckeyes also will go through field goal and punt sets, scheduled to begin the scrimmage Saturday.
As many as 25 former Buckeyes are expected to be in attendance Saturday in The Shoe, so fans seeking a peek at the future can also give props to past Ohio State greats. In addition to honorary captains, Malcolm Jenkins and Ryan Shazier, several additional NFL Buckeyes as well as many standouts from the 2017 B1G champs will be on hand.
Be ready to put those hands together for more than a handful of Ohio State championship teams and student-athletes. Among the teams scheduled to be recognized on the field Saturday includes but is not limited to: B1G Champion women’s basketball, track and field, wrestling, swimming and diving and women’s soccer in addition to men’s basketball, dance national champs and the Frozen Four men’s and women’s hockey teams.
Outside St. John Arena in Remembrance Park, is Fan Fest. This area offers plenty of pregame fun for all ages as well as free food samples. This week, activities will get underway early at 10 a.m.
Although the temperature in central Ohio finally has hit an uptick, wet weather is expected Saturday. With potential thunderstorms and severe conditions, please keep your eyes to the sky and your ears open for stadium announcements and updates.
Ohio State fans will have unique experiences available Saturday when the Buckeyes take the field with the annual spring football game at Ohio Stadium.
The Ohio State Department of Athletics has partnered with Experience to allow fans to get closer to the action through a variety of experiences for purchase.
