DUBLIN, Ohio—The Jack Nicklaus Invitational wrapped up this afternoon with Ohio State’s match once again coming down to Kevin Stone’s final holes and the opposing team just edging the Buckeyes out. The men started this morning at 9 AM tied 2-2-2 with Florida State with an average nine holes left to play.
Will Grimmer won his second match of the tournament, downing his opponent on the final hole to give Ohio State its first point on the board. Caleb Ramirez was close behind, finishing all square, and Will Voetsch came up with a big 4&3 victory to give Ohio State its second full point. Daniel Wetterich fell 2&1 and Grant Engle lost 6&5 to put the score 2 1/2 to 2 1/2. The result came down to Stone’s match, where he nearly rallied from being down two with three holes to play but was snubbed in his effort. The match finished 3 1/2 to 2 1/2 in favor of Florida State. At the Jack Nicklaus Invitational the Buckeyes finished 0-1-1 in their matches on the immaculate Muirfield Village Golf Club.
