Ohio State men’s gymnastics program garners the most conference distinctions
COLUMBUS, Ohio A conference-high 10 student-athletes from the Ohio State men’s gymnastics team were named Academic All-Big Ten honorees last Wednesday. Receiving kudos from the league office were seniors Tony Duong, Pejman Ebrahimi and Jimmy Wickham, juniors Jake Bateman, Kevin Brown, Eddie Hay and Andy Saurber and sophomores Michael Bell, Justin Myers and Shachar Tal. Michigan’s program had nine gymnasts earn the distinction, Illinois had seven, Minnesota and Penn State had six each and Iowa three.
To be eligible for Academic All-Big Ten selection, a student-athlete must be a letterwinner in at least their second academic year and carry a grade-point average (GPA) of 3.0 or better. Duong and Wickham end their Buckeye careers as three-time honorees.
