Senior corner Devon Torrence met with local reporters after a recent practice this week. Click the play button above to watch an interview with the senior from Canton.
Torrence is expected to start once again at corner this season, opposite Chimdi Chekwa. Torrence, who played three summers of minor league baseball before deciding to concentrating solely on football, had a solid 2009 in his first year as a full-time starter. He recorded 35 tackles, including a sack in the USC game, and had two interceptions for 19 yards, two pass break-ups and two forced fumbles.
Torrence, shown above wearing No. 10, will be switching his jersey to No. 1 this season — a number not given to just anyone by head coach Jim Tressel. “I’m really honored to know that he believes in me and respects me enough to let me have the number,” Torrence said at media day earlier this month.
