COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State synchronized swimming team concluded the 2006 season with a fourth-place performance at the U.S. National championships at the Fort Lauderdale Complex in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. The Buckeyes finished with 18 points, while Santa Clara won the event with 52 points. Stanford was second (32) and Walnut Creek (22) rounded out the Top 3.

Four OSU routines advanced to the finals. Becky Kim (Jr., Walnut Creek, Calif./Walnut Creek Aquanuts) represented Ohio State in the solo event and finished fifth with a 92.751. The duo of Carly Grimshaw (Sr., Markham, Ontario/Synchro Optima) and Chelsea Luker (Sr., Montreal, Quebec/Montreal Synchro) earned an eighth-place 90.668. Both the OSU `A’ team and the Buckeye `B’ team qualified for the team final with the `A’ squad notching a 94.668, which was good for third place and the `B’ team compiling a seventh-place 91.917.
