COLUMBUS, Ohio In its quest for its 25th U.S. Collegiate Synchronized Swimming Championship, Ohio State continued its dominance Friday in the team semifinal. The Scarlet team finished first, ahead of second-place finisher Stanford by more than two points at the Josh Davis Natatorium in San Antonio, Texas. 

The final for all three small routines, solo, duet and trio, as well as the team routine final will begin at 11:30 a.m. ET Saturday. The Buckeyes are seeking their 25th collegiate national title and first since 2004.

The Scarlet team, the defending collegiate national champions, of Barbara Nesbitt, Deborah Shim, Michelle Theriault, Jayme DeLancy, Carmen Moraes, Caitlin Stewart, Jillian Penner and Becky Kim scored a 96.833 to conclude day two in first place.

The Cardinal was second with a mark of 94.667. Rounding out the Top 3 in the team event was the Buckeye Gray squad of Kendra Sollars, Liz Derr, Rita Gillan, Jackie Mundy, Hannah Shively, Emilie Siemer, Lauren Robinson and Katherine Green. The group executed a routine worth 93.333 points.

Earlier in the day, several Buckeyes also participated in the figures and elements competitions. In B Figures, Green scored a 70. 259 for seventh place.

In the A Elements, Kim and Nesbitt were Ohio State high finishers. They finished fifth (83.506) and sixth (83.472), respectively.
