COLUMBUS, Ohio — Andrew Stimmel, former Ohio State men’s lacrosse captain and defensive MVP, accepted a head-coaching job with Grove City College July 27. He will be to returning to an area he once called home.

“I’m very excited about this opportunity and the future for Grove City Lacrosse,” Stimel told Stimmel told CollegeLAX.us. “It’s an honor to take part in a program that is continuing to grow and has an invested interest in producing tremendous young men. I’m looking forward to giving back to the greater Pittsburgh community that has had a great impact on my life and can’t wait to hit the ground running once we step on campus.”

As a Buckeye, Stimmel was a team co-captain along with a defensive MVP player in 2010 as a senior. He was an Academic All Big-Ten selection and an Ohio State Scholar-Athlete and graduated in 2011 with a business logistics degree. In his last year at Ohio State he served as the team’s undergraduate assistant to help prepare him for the opportunity with the Wolverines.
