COLUMBUS, Ohio – Sophomore Billy Stanley was named Big Ten Field Athlete of the Week Wednesday by the conference office after an outstanding opening weekend performance at the Vanderbilt Black and Gold Invitational.

Stanley, a native of South Park, Pa., cleared 74.38 meters (244-0.50) to win the javelin throw for the second-consecutive year at the Black and Gold. The mark ranks among the Top 5 in Division I this season.

The weekly award is the first for Stanley and the first for a Buckeye since Michael Hartfield took home the honor on April 10, 2013.
