HISTORY WITH THE `LOPES
Ohio State owns an 11-2 advantage in the all-time series against Grand Canyon, including a 6-1 mark inside St. John Arena. The Buckeyes have dropped a total of only 10 sets in 13 meetings against the Antelopes since the first clash in 2010.

ALL SMILES FOR MILES
Miles Johnson became the 15th Buckeye in school history to earn AVCA National Player of the Week honors on Tuesday (Feb. 16) after lifting Ohio State to road sweeps over two-time defending NCAA champion Loyola and reigning MIVA champs Lewis on back-to-back evenings last weekend. He attacked .446 while averaging 5.50 kills, 1.00 aces and 6.58 points per set for the week. Johnson is the first Scarlet-&-Gray-clad National Player of the Week since Shawn Sangrey was recognized on the national stage in 2012 (March 6).

Johnson was also tabbed as the MIVA Offensive Player of the Week, Ohio State’s fourth time capturing that laurel through the first seven weeks of the 2016 season.

LAST TIME: LEWIS & LOYOLA EDITION
Ohio State tallied a pair of 3-0 sweeps at Loyola and Lewis last weekend:

• First time Ohio State swept both Lewis and Loyola in the same weekend since March 30-31, 2012 (at home)
• First time Ohio State won at both Lewis and Loyola in the same weekend since April 3-4, 2009
• First time Ohio State swept at both Lewis and Loyola in the same weekend since April 14-15, 2006

STATISTICALLY SPEAKING
Ohio State entered the week as the nation’s top attacking squad, hitting a team percentage of .359 in NCAA matches (McMaster match not recognized by NCAA). That swinging rate ranks first in the entire country. The Buckeyes are also averaging 1.98 aces per set; good for second-best.

Individually, Nicolas Szerszen is slotted top-20 in several different categories: 4.23 kills/set (6th), 4.84 points/set (7th), .389 attacking efficiency (8th) and .43 aces/set (20th).
