COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Ohio State University Department of Athletics today announced that all net proceeds from ticket sales for Saturday’s Scarlet and Gray Spring Football Game in Crew Stadium will be donated to the Garey Humphrey family.

Mr. Humphrey is an employee of The Ohio State University, whose home was destroyed by fire on Apr. 4. Tragically, Mr. Humphrey’s two daughters died in the fire and three other family members, including Mr. Humphrey, suffered second and third-degree burns over most of their bodies. Both of Mr. Humphrey’s hands were amputated.

Mr. Humphrey, who has been employed as a morning cook at Morrill Tower, currently is listed as stable, but remains in critical condition at University Hospitals. His two sons remain hospitalized and face further surgery.

“Our hearts go out to the Humphreys in this extraordinary time of grief,” said Ohio State coach John Cooper. “I can’t even imagine the anguish that this family has gone through. Our prayers are with them.”

Tickets for the Spring Game are on sale at all Ticketmaster outlets and at the Athletics Ticket Office at the Jerome Schottenstein Center. Tickets also will be available Saturday morning at Crew Stadium.
