%^$Coach John Coopers overview…
%^$”We’ve had a good spring practice so far. We have had quite a bit of contact and not a whole lot of serious injuries. The two young quarterbacks are getting better all the time. We’ve got three good running backs and we’re working hard on defense. All in all, it’s been a really good spring. It’s encouraging the way the upperclassmen are working hard. The guys you know are football players -Matt Kellar and Gary Berry, guys like that who have been starters the whole career – they’ve come out in spring practice and have tried to get better.”%^$

%^$On the NFL draft…
%^$”We had a great football team last year, and you don’t have a great team without great players. I’m happy for the guys who got drafted. Almost every senior football player we had last year was either drafted or signed as a free agent. Those high school football players who want to play in the NFL, come to Ohio State.”%^$

%^$On Saturdays scrimmage…
%^$”This will be the first time we will have put them in game-type situations. Well get a Big Ten crew out here. Well have them in different situations. Well have about everything except the kicking game. We wont kick or we wont punt, but well go out and have a little bit of fun.”%^$

%^$QB Austin Moherman spring overview…
%^$”Ive gotten a lot out of it. Especially because there are only two guys out there. Were going every other time and getting a lot of reps. The last couple of years Ive been doing a lot of learning by watching, now doing it helps me a lot. Steve and I have a good working relationship. We arent wishing bad things on each other. We are out there helping each other out and learning from our mistakes. Im looking forward to getting a chance to play in game-like situations. Weve had a couple of scrimmages but this will be a lot more like a game.”%^$

%^$DE Rodney Bailey spring overview…
%^$”I’ve gotten a lot out of this spring. Were all going hard every snap. People are finding the ball and reacting to everything. We’re working on all those little things that you need to do better. I approach the spring by leading with my actions. I try and fly around as much as I can and even though Im going hard, I try and go even harder. I want to set a good example for all the younger guys.”%^$

%^$QB Steve Bellisari spring overview…
%^$”I think things have been going really well. Every day weve been trying to improve and I think were getting there, especially as a team. Things are finally starting to click a little better. But Ive still got a little more work to do. It would be nice to play in the Stadium, but I think it will be fine with what we have.”%^$

%^$RB Jonathan Wells spring overview…
%^$”Im really excited about what Im going to bring to the table. This spring, Im more comfortable running behind the offensive line. I know my material so nothing is going to slow me down. Im just running and being a running back.”%^$

%^$Wells on the backfield competition…
%^$”Mike [Wiley] is a great back and he has proven himself on Saturdays. Right now, Im just trying to get my opportunity to do the same. Hes the lead guy and Im just looking to get my share of reps, too. Im trying to have the best backfield in the country. Everybody is out here competing. Weve got about four backs that can start anywhere in the country. We are all just getting a lot better.”
