COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Big Ten Conference recognized 354 student-athletes, including 30 Buckeyes. Six swimmers were named to the winter academic all-Big Ten team. To be eligible for the honor, a student-athlete must be a letterwinner in at least their second academic year and carry a career grade point average of 3.0 or better.
The swimmers named were:

Jason Fox, Sr., Goshen, Ind.
John Moore, So., Chesterfield, Va.
Ian Neubauer, So., Cincinnati, Ohio
Josh Smith, So., Auburn, Mich.
Daniel Vitina, So., Pittsburgh, Pa.
The women’s swimming and diving team led the way for Ohio State with nine honorees. Other winter sports with academic members include men’s and women’s gymnastics (nine), women’s basketball (five) and wrestling (one).
