COLUMBUS, Ohio – Seventy-two Ohio State fall student-athletes have been named to the Academic All-Big Ten team, the Big Ten Conference announced Wednesday. In all, 1,024 student-athletes were recognized across the conference from field hockey, football, men’s and women’s cross country, men’s and women’s soccer and women’s volleyball programs. To be eligible for Academic All-Big Ten selection, student-athletes must be letterwinners who are in at least their second academic year at their institution and carry a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or higher.

Ohio State senior Minori Minagawa (exercise science) of women’s cross country team was one of 21 student-athletes who has maintained a perfect 4.0 grade-point average. For Ohio State, women’s soccer led the way with 18 honorees, with football, field hockey and men’s soccer with 12 selections each, followed by women’s volleyball (8), women’s cross country (7) and men’s cross country (3).
