COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State freshman midfielder Logan Schuss has been named the ECAC Co-Rookie of the Week, the conference announced Monday. Schuss, the Buckeyes’ leading scorer who is first in the ECAC in points per game, is a four-time conference player of the week selection, with three rookie awards (March 1, co-March 8) and an offensive player of the week nod March 29.

Schuss, from Ladner, British Columbia, had a team-best and game-high four points in the win against Air Force in the “Showdown in the Shoe” in front of more than 30,000 fans. He posted two goals and two assists in the contest. His goals came in the final 6:21 of the contest, breaking open a two-goal game. Schuss’ first assist was on the opening goal of the game just 2:00 into the contest, while his second was on Jeff Tundo’s tally with five seconds left in the first half that tied the game at 5-all at halftime. Schuss had six shots and one groundball in the contest.

Schuss now has a team-high 21 assists and 43 points and is second with 22 goals. He has at least one point in all 13 of his games for the Scarlet and Gray, with multiple points in all but two. He is second in the league in points and his 3.31 points per game rank first among ECAC players and 30th in the nation. His 1.62 assists per outing rank 23rd nationally and second among conference players.

Ohio State now has received eight conference player of the week accolades this season, including six Rookie of the Week honors in the 10 weeks of the award. In addition to Schuss’ four awards, Jeff Tundo has been named rookie of the week three times (March 15, April 5, April 12). Senior Brandon Freeman has been the league’s defensive player of the week (March 29), while classmate Mario Ventiquattro picked up co-offensive honors March 8.
