COLUMBUS, Ohio – For the final non-conference game of the 2018 regular season, Ohio State hosted its annual Veterans/Military Appreciation Day and welcomed 3,218 fans to Ohio Stadium against No. 4-ranked Notre Dame.
The crowd was the Buckeyes’ largest since the last time they hosted the Irish, in March of 2016 (excluding contests that occurred before the football Spring Game). Ohio State is averaging 2,271 fans in its first two games at Ohio Stadium, an increase of over 500 per game from last season.
Big Ten plays opens for Ohio State this weekend when they host Penn State at 3 p.m. as part of a doubleheader with the Buckeyes’ women’s lacrosse team, who also takes on Penn State (noon).
