Ohio State was down throughout much of the competition, trailing Michigan by mere tenths of a point. Heading into the final rotation, which had the Buckeyes on the vault, the tally was 190.400-189.575 in favor of Michigan. Doug Stibel (Sr., Canton, Mich.), however, answered the challenge, landing a 9.800 and propelling the Buckeyes to the win. Stibel would go on to win the vault and also claimed the all-around crown for the second consecutive week. Jamie Natalie (So., Hockessin, Del.) also proved vital for Ohio State, winning both the floor exercise and horizontal bar events and finishing second to Stibel in the all-around. %^$

The Buckeyes, who in two weeks defeated both Michigan State and Michigan, move to 8-1 and next travel to Minnesota on Feb. 6 for a 1 p.m. meet.%^$
