Ryan Feltner Named Cape League Outstanding Relief Pitcher

COLUMBUS, Ohio Ryan Feltner, a rising junior on the Ohio State baseball team, was honored with the Russ Ford Outstanding Relief Pitcher Award, the Bourne Braves announced Sunday. The honor goes to the most outstanding relief pitcher of the Cape Cod Summer League.

Feltner from Hudson, Ohio, was dominant this summer as the Braves’ closer. He had a clean ERA of 0.00 with 15 strikeouts in 15.1 innings pitched. The hard-throwing righty, Feltner registered eight saves in 13 appearances and was named a Cape League All-Star.

Feltner, an Academic All-Big Ten selection this past spring, is set begin his third fall camp with the Scarlet and Gray. He has tallied 118 strikeouts in 131.1 innings pitched in two years on the mound for the Buckeyes and will be a key component to the Buckeye pitching staff in 2018.
