Ohio State hosted Michigan, Virginia and Duke in the Big Ten/ACC duals last weekend. Ohio State raced in the morning session against third-ranked Virginia, followed by a second heat in which they rowed against the Blue Devils.

In the morning race, Virginia owned a slim half-seat lead at the start, but the Buckeyes started to move even 500-meters into the course. Ohio State then took a six-seat advantage at the 800-meter mark. Although the Cavaliers attempted to press forward with about 750-meters to go, the Buckeyes had established a boat-length lead and finished at 6:30.8, ahead of Virginia’s 6:35.9.

The Scarlet and Gray started its afternoon race against Duke with a comfortable margin and continued to push away at the 1,000-meter mark. Rowing clean and aggressively, Ohio State ended the day with a victory over Duke with a time of 6:33.5. The Blue Devils clocked in 23.1 seconds after the Buckeyes at 6:56.6.
