COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State rifle team opened the 2004-05 season with a 4,627 to 4,423 loss at Kentucky Saturday. Buckeye Ryan Kohatsu (Sr., Hilo, Hawaii) was OSU’s top shooter, taking first in smallbore rifle (588), tying for third in air rifle (583) and winning the two-gun aggregate with a 1,171 mark. Kentucky’s Vicki Goss and Ray Geyer tied for first in air rifle with a 587 score. Ohio State’s Linnea Nygren (Jr., Hayward, Calif.) finished fifth in smallbore rifle (573) and was fifth in the two-gun aggregate with a 1,132 score (air rifle 559).

Ohio State will next travel to Purdue University for the Boilermaker Invitational, Saturday, Oct. 30.
