COLUMBUS, Ohio – Restoration work on The Ohio State University Scarlet Golf Course will begin Monday. The course will be closed to all play until the work is complete. A completion date has not been projected and weather conditions will be a significant factor in determining how quickly the project progresses. The driving range will be open as long as possible and the Gray Course will remain open throughout the restoration.

Ohio State alumnus Jack Nicklaus and the Nicklaus Design Group are working in conjunction with National Golf Builders on the project.

The renovations to Scarlet will cost $2.8 million and include a reshaping of all bunkers, bunker drainage revisions, expansion of the driving range, the addition of several championship tees and the recontouring of selected greens. The work is being paid for with the endowment income from the Al & Martha Phipps gift to the OSU Golf Course.
