%^$COLUMBUS, Ohio– The Ohio State wrestling Buckeyes continued their winning ways and ran their consecutive-wins streak to 11 with victories against Big Ten foe Purdue (19-12) and No. 20 North Carolina (35-4). With the two wins, OSU’s record improved to 11-3 overall and 1-0 in the Big Ten. The Boilermakers fell to 6-3 overall and 0-2 in the Big Ten while UNC saw its record drop to 2-4 overall with a 1-0 mark in the Atlantic Coast Conference.%^$

%^$In their dual with the Boilermakers, the Buckeyes dropped the opening match when No. 10 Evan Robinson scored a 12-7 decision over No. 19 Jeff Ratliff (Fr., Marion, Ohio/Marion Harding). The next six matches saw the score jump back and forth in favor of both teams until No. 16 Anton Talamantes (So., Ft. Wayne, Ind./Bishop Dwenger), No. 4 Nick Preston (Jr., Columbus, Ohio/DeSales) and No. 1 Tommy Rowlands (Fr., Columbus, Ohio/Bishop Ready) scored two decisions and a major decision, respectively, to put the dual out of reach. OSU also saw three of its wrestlers, Rowlands, Talamantes and John Clark (Fr., Canton, N.Y./Canton), score a win in their first conference action.%^$

%^$OSU lost one match in the UNC dual, a 10-2 major decision for No. 8 JohnMark Bentley over Richie Bordner (Jr., Jefferson City, Mo./Jefferson City). The Buckeyes started the dual on the right foot quickly when Ratliff pinned Brad Byers at 4:22 to give OSU a 6-0 lead. Clark, Preston and Kore Sharpley (Sr., Shaker Heights, Ohio/Shaker Heights) all scored victories by major decision against the Tar Heels while Rowlands stayed perfect in duals (14-0) with an 18-3 technical fall at 6:28.%^$

%^$The Buckeyes consecutive-wins streak will be tested on the road Friday when OSU travels to Penn State for a 7 p.m. dual with the Nittany Lions. OSU will then return home Sunday for a 2 p.m. dual with No. 22 Indiana at St. John Arena.%^$
