Dan:Worthington:    What other sports did you play in high school?

——————————————————————————–

OhioStateBuckeyes.com::    Malcolm is here so we will go ahead and begin.

——————————————————————————–

Malcolm Jenkins::    I also ran track in high school.

——————————————————————————–

Greg Price:Columbus:    My son plays cornerback & safety but sometimes wants to switch to WR on offense. He sometimes feels like they get all the press. Have ever struggled with that thought and what kept you playing corner? Hope you guy’s bring us home the big one this year…

——————————————————————————–

Malcolm Jenkins::    I always got joy out of shutting down receivers with a lot of hype. When you do that, you get your own hype. I stayed at corner because it is a lot more challenging.

——————————————————————————–

Rob Ticchiarelli:Kitchener, Ontario:    What is one of your main work-outs during the off season?

——————————————————————————–

Malcolm Jenkins::    Postition specific drills and mainly focusing on my footwork. I work a lot on back-peddling and getting in and out of breaks.

——————————————————————————–

Nate:Chillicothe:    After experiencing preparations for Florida and LSU, what do you think needs to be addressed in preparing for another tough matchup with USC so we can contend for another national title this year?

——————————————————————————–

Malcolm Jenkins::    One word – Focus. Everyone needs to focus and be disciplined.

——————————————————————————–

Cody Meinert:Toledo OH:    What does being a senior at THE Ohio State University mean to you?

——————————————————————————–

Malcolm Jenkins::    I finally get all the perks of being a senior. I get to make speeches to the team and eat first at team meals. Hopfully, I will be a captain and I will get to enjoy a senior day home.

——————————————————————————–

Cody Meinert:Toledo,Ohio:    What does being a leader on this Ohio State team mean to you?

——————————————————————————–

Malcolm Jenkins::    Pretty much when anything good happens glory goes to the team. When bad things happen, it falls on me as a leader.

——————————————————————————–

DENNY MCKENZIE:NEW CARLISE OHIO:    NO QUESTION. JUST WANTED SAY GO BUCKS.

——————————————————————————–

Malcolm Jenkins::    Thanks for the support.

——————————————————————————–

Dan Steinberg:Worthington:    What will be your toughest COMM class this quarter?

——————————————————————————–

Malcolm Jenkins::    Comm 634 will be the hardest.

——————————————————————————–

Pam:Westerville:    Malcolm, Which Big Ten offense do you anticipate will be most improved over last year? Have a great senior season…thanks for coming back.

——————————————————————————–

Malcolm Jenkins::    Michigan. It will be a whole new offense which will make people change how they attack their offense.

——————————————————————————–

Garry:Madison,WI:    Who is the fastest corner on the roster this year?

——————————————————————————–

Malcolm Jenkins::    Chimdi Chekwa is the fastest.

——————————————————————————–

Mike Lewis:Mountville, Pa:    No question…I just want to say how happy I am to see you as a Buckeye again this year!! I live in Penn State territory and a groan went out when you returned. Go Bucks!!

——————————————————————————–

Malcolm Jenkins::    Thanks. I am enjoying college a lot and I wasn’t ready to turn football into a profession yet.

——————————————————————————–

Kristin:Norwich:    What is your best memory of this last season?

——————————————————————————–

Malcolm Jenkins::    Beating Michigan and holding them under 100-yards of offense. It was pretty amazing.

——————————————————————————–

Adam Freed:Columbus:    Malcolm: How much input do coach Tressel, and coach Heacock allow you to have in the defensive scheme. For instance perhaps not relying so much on a zone, and giving you guys a little more ability to utilize your speed?

——————————————————————————–

Malcolm Jenkins::    Coach Heacock listens a lot to what we feel comfortable with and they have faith in our abilities to judge how much man or zone we play.

——————————————————————————–

Laura:Cincinnati, Ohio:    If you were to be a two sport student-athlete at Ohio State – what other sport would you go out for?

——————————————————————————–

Malcolm Jenkins::    I am a two sport athlete. I run track after spring ball. I run the 4×1.

——————————————————————————–

Tamara:Dallas, Texas:    What do you like to do on a day off?

——————————————————————————–

Malcolm Jenkins::    I never have off days but if I did, I would waste my time watching TV.

——————————————————————————–

Corey :nashport,oh:    whats it like playing for ohio state buckeyes?

——————————————————————————–

Malcolm Jenkins::    I don’t know if it is like anything else. I haven’t played for any other team so I don’t have anything to compare it to. I just know I made the right decision coming here.

——————————————————————————–

Matthew Smith:Perrysburg, OH:    Malcom: How well of an asset you think TP is gonna be to the Ohio State Buckeye Offense, and do you think he has a chance to play early on, or will he have to put in his time like everyone else??

——————————————————————————–

Malcolm Jenkins::    I’m not sure how much he will help because I’ve never seen him play but if he works hard enough and has the right mindset he could play earlier.

——————————————————————————–

John:conneaut:    What are your goals for this season?

——————————————————————————–

Malcolm Jenkins::    To not drop four interceptions like I did last season and to win the Thorpe Award.

——————————————————————————–

Cody Meinert:Toledo OH:    Does it ever frustrate you that other teams never throw the ball towards you.

——————————————————————————–

Malcolm Jenkins::    No, because I still have four interceptions. The rest of my teammates get challenged so it helps their stats.

——————————————————————————–

Mark:Columbus:    Who is the best receiver you have had to cover from an opposing team, and in practice?

——————————————————————————–

Malcolm Jenkins::    The best receiver I have ever covered was Anthony Gonzalez. He was the best route runner and had deceptive speed.

——————————————————————————–

Mark:Columbus:    How does Donald Washington’s ability on the other side affect your strategy?

——————————————————————————–

Malcolm Jenkins::    It allows us to play a lot of man because we have two corners who can lock receivers down.

——————————————————————————–

Mark:Columbus:    What is your favorite memory from your time at Ohio State so far?

——————————————————————————–

Malcolm Jenkins::    My favorite memory is getting an interception two years in a row for a touchdown against Penn State.

——————————————————————————–

Mark:Columbus:    Do you see yourself as a safety or a corner in the NFL?

——————————————————————————–

Malcolm Jenkins::    Corner. My size and speed is something that they look for in corners in the NFL now because the receivers are getting bigger now.

——————————————————————————–

OhioStateBuckeyes.com::    That’s it for Malcolm. Thanks for all the questions.
