Buckeyes continue on the road at Illinois Saturday, Sunday

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 20/22 Ohio State softball team posted a run off a Sam Marder RBI double in the first  before game one of a Big Ten doubleheader vs. Purdue was sent into a rain delay Wednesday in West Lafayette, Ind.

After an hour and 45 minute delay, the conference foes again took the field for the bottom of the first. Purdue worked a runner around to third before the game again was called to a halt, this time for good.

Next up, Ohio State (21-10, 2-0 Big Ten) makes its first appearance in 2010 on the Big Ten Network, playing No. 18 Illinois at 4 p.m. Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday in Champaign, Ill.

The Illini will be the Buckeyes’ first ranked opponent since Feb. 28 when Ohio State downed then-No. 5 UCLA, 7-0, in Cathedral City, Calif.
