COLUMBUS, Ohio – Rain forced the suspension of the first game of the Saturday doubleheader between Ohio State and Purdue at Bill Davis Stadium. The game was suspended in the middle of the third inning and will resume from that point Sunday at 11:05 a.m.

Ohio State jumped out to an early lead in the first inning. Doug Dendinger (Sr., Greenwich, Ohio/South Central) singled to right to knock in Doug Deeds (So., Bexley, Ohio/Bexley), who singled to rightfield with two outs.

Purdue tied it up in the top of the third with a two-out double down the left field by leftfielder Nick McIntyre that scored shortstop Mitch Koester. Rain began to fall in the second inning, but then became more steady in the third inning.

The teams will then play two seven-inning games immediately following the conclusion of the suspended game. WOSU-AM will resume the broadcast of this game on the Internet at 11 a.m., but will broadcast the two seven-inning games on WOSU Radio.
