COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State hosts its annual Military/Veteran Appreciation Game on Sunday. One current Buckeye — senior defenseman Freddy Freibott — has plans to answer the call to serve his country following graduation as a lawyer for the Marine Corps.
Freibott, from Wilmington, Del., has excelled both on and off the field during his time with the Scarlet and Gray. A three-time Ohio State Scholar-Athlete, Academic All-Big Ten choice and Big Ten Distinguished Scholar, Freibott is a history major who is on track to graduate this spring. A veteran of 57 career games, he needs just four more ground balls to reach 100 and was named to the 2017 Big Ten All-Tournament team.
Freibott and the Buckeyes (5-3) host No. 4 Notre Dame on Sunday beginning at noon inside Ohio Stadium. The game will also be broadcast live on ESPNU.
