– With nine career home runs, senior Christina Douglas moved into the Top 12 in career homers at Ohio State.

– Senior Nycole Koyano stole two bases against Northridge, giving her 60 for her career. She is 60-for-72 in career stolen bases.

– OSU freshman Sam Marder (Calabasas, Calif./Calabasas), who homered in both games Friday, was hit by a pitch twice and also walked. Marder also collected her first career stolen base in the game.

– At third base Saturday against Northridge, OSU freshman Tory Haddad (Valparaiso, Calif./Fort Walton Beach) made her first career start for the Buckeyes.

– Ohio State is now 4-9 all-time against Cal State Northridge. In 2004, these two teams also met in Tempe, a 2-1 victory for the Buckeyes, and then again in the NCAA tournament in Tallahassee, Fla., a 4-2 win for the Matadors.

– Northridge, which led No. 17 Texas Friday 3-0 before falling, 5-3, had the lights go out in extra innings in their game against Utah Friday night, resulting in a 5-5 tie.

– Cal State Northridge has eight letterwinners back from its 2006 team that went 22-20 and 8-10 in the Big West Conference. CSUN’s Amanda Peek was the 2006 Big West Freshman of the Year.
