Three previous Buckeye teams have won 14 in a row during aseason in 1992-93, 1972-73 and 2004-05. The 2005-06 Buckeyes tiedthe program’s longest win streak at 20. Ohio State also won 20 in arow in 1984-85. The win Sunday vs. Iowa was Ohio State’s 26th in arow at home and 24th consecutive at VCA. Dating back to the 2003-04season, Ohio State has won 51 of its last 52 regular season gamesplayed in Columbus. With the victory Sunday, Ohio State tied theprogram record for consecutive home wins. The Buckeyes won 26 in arow in Columbus from the 1986-87 season (started Jan. 5, 1987 vs.Northern Illinois) to the 1988-89 campaign (last home win vs.Northeastern Dec. 3, 1988). With the victory over Iowa, OhioState’s three seniors Stephanie Blanton, Jessica Davenport andBrandie Hoskins upped their record with the Buckeyes to 101-19 intheir four seasons with the Scarlet and Gray. The best four-yearrun by a Buckeye team was from 1982-83 to 1985-86 when Ohio Statewent 106-22. The Buckeyes also posted a 102-20 mark from 1984-85 to1987-88. Ohio State’s 21-1 start to the 2006-07 season is theprogram’s best. The Buckeyes claimed victory in 17 of their first18 in 1973-74 before finishing 18-2. Ohio State’s 10-0 start to theBig Ten season is the best in the five seasons Jim Foster has beenhead coach. The 10-0 start in league play is Ohio State’s bestsince the 1986-87 Big Ten championship squad won its first 13league games before losing to Northwestern in its 14th conferencegame. Ohio State has won its last 27 games vs. Big Ten opponents.The streak is the longest since the Buckeyes won 36 straight vs.conference foes from 1983-84 to 1985-86. The Buckeyes have won thelast seven meetings with Iowa and now trail the Hawkeyes, 24-23, inthe series. At home, the Buckeyes hold a 15-7 advantage, winningeach of the last seven games between the two schools in Columbus.The Buckeyes shot 61.5 percent (16-26) in the first half. It wasthe ninth time this season they have shot over 60 percent in ahalf. Ohio State is 6-0 in any game in which it shoots over 60percent in either half. Ohio State opened the game Sunday byoutscoring Iowa, 16-2, over the first 5:52 of the first half. TheBuckeyes made 7-of-10 FG attempts. Ohio State opened the secondhalf on a 14-0 run to take a 59-32 lead with 16:25 left in thegame. Ohio State outrebounded Iowa, 35-28, and improved its recordwhen pulling down more rebounds than its opponents to 16-1 thisseason. Ohio State has won 49 of its last 50 games when scoring atleast 60 points. Iowa made 17-of-50 FG (.340). In its 14-game win streak, Ohio State has held itsopponents to 36 percent FG in the second half, allowing just 167makes in 458 opponent tries. Jessica Davenport finished with fiverebounds Sunday to put her at 1,000 for her career. She postedrebound No. 1,000 at the 9:59 mark of the second half. Davenportbecame just the second player in Big Ten history to collect 2,000points and 1,000 rebounds in a career. She joins Laura Coenen, whohad 2,044 points and 1,029 rebounds at Minnesota from 1981-85.

Davenport is the first player in Big Ten history to record 2,000 points, 1,000 rebounds and 300 blocks in a career. After swatting four shots Sunday, Davenport has 361 rejections for her career and now is just six swats from the Big Ten record held by Trish Andrew of Michigan, who blocked 367 shots from 1989-93. The Buckeyes are 17-0 when Davenport records at least three blocks this season. Davenport also added a season-high three steals.

Davenport has recorded double digits in 72 of her last 73 games.

In the last two seasons, the Buckeyes are 15-1 when four players reach double figures in points.

Star Allen had 11 points Sunday. She has scored 106 points inher last seven games, an average of 15.1per game. She finishedSunday with a 4-for-6 FG clip and has gone 48-for-65 FG in her lastfive games, a .738 percentage. Brandie Hoskins had 16 points Sundayand added six assists and four rebounds. She has scored doublefigures in 20 of 22 games this season. Hoskins’ career point totalis 1,458 to rank 13th all-time at Ohio State. Hoskins passed MarySivak (1,446/1979-82) for the 13th spot all-time at Ohio State.

With six assists, Hoskins has 467 for her career to rank fifth at Ohio State. The Buckeyes record is 14-0 this season when Hoskins dishes at least five assists.

Nine Ohio State players had at least two rebounds and nineplayers also had at least one assist. Maria Moeller tied acareer-high with five rebounds Sunday. Stephanie Blanton tied acareer-high with two 3-point FG Sunday. Ohio State outscored Iowa38-4 in points in the paint, including an 18-2 advantage in thefirst half. This season, Ohio State has outscored its opponents inthe paint 876-510 and has outscored 18 of 22 opponents in the lanethis season. Ohio State has won 42 consecutive games whenoutscoring opponents in the lane. The Buckeyes also held a 41-17advantage in points off turnovers and a 16-0 edge in fastbreakpoints.
