Recap| Box Score| Notes

Ohio State Head Coach Jim Foster
“I think quickness is going to be the difference in most games but the framework of quickness is staying intense. In the first half, we had some break downs but we finished the game strong and that is important. We had the opportunity to work with some different combinations and that is going to pay off down the road.”

“We were a little more patient in the second half and were able to reverse the ball inside to the baseline. Caity Matter is a great shooter. She needs to keep shooting because taking shots enables us to get more offensive rebounds. We continue to be a very good rebounding team. (D’wan Shackleford) brought tremendous energy to us defensively.”

Senior D’wan Shackleford
“I think in the second half we spent too much time sitting back instead of being more aggressive. At one point we had to regroup. In the second half we were much more aggressive. Our aggressive play really helped out with our low-post success.”

Sophomore Ashley Allen
“The first couple games this season have really helped me become more comfortable within the offense. Tonight we came out a little sluggish. In the second half we moved a lot more and we were much more aggressive.”

Youngstown State Head Coach Ed DiGregorio
“Our team is very young and some of them don’t see many minutes. We can only really play eight girls and you have to stay patient in that situation.”

“Once you get hit in the mouth you have to be ready to play. You have to go out there and be competitive. They were in awe playing Ohio State in this arena. They are a good team. I guarantee you (Ohio State head coach) Foster will be in the hunt for a Big Ten championship.”
