Minnesota head coach Pam Borton
On tonight’s game
“Ohio State is one of the best defensive teams in the conference so we knew we were in for a challenge offensively. I thought we played great in the first half. We got the ball inside and were able to get some easy baskets. Unfortunately, there are two halves and we did not play well in the second half. In the second half, we turned the ball over too much and for about five minutes, we just did not look good.”

Minnesota junior guard Lindsay Whalen
On tonight’s game
“Coming into the game I really felt as if we were prepared. Usually, in big games I let things come to me and in the first half I think I did a good job of doing that. In the second half, I got a little anxious, picked up some silly fouls, and got away from my normal game plan.”

On bouncing back from a tough loss
“It’s tough to lose a game in a 4 to 5 minute stretch. In games like this we need to focus on getting the loose balls and showing more effort when it counts. We need to figure out a way to pull together as a team and move on to the next game.”

Ohio State head coach Jim Foster
On tonight’s game
“(Minnesota) is a very talented team offensively. I thought our defensive did a great job by being in the right place at the right time. I think we were just hungrier than they were tonight.”

On tonight’s second half run
“I think we really started to get moving once we started moving off our screens and using our quickness. I think our team’s quickness is its biggest strength.”

Ohio State freshman guard Kim Wilburn
On the second half
“During the first half, I was making some careless mistakes but during halftime my teammates really challenged me to step up and make some better reads.”

Ohio State senior forward Courtney Coleman
On the tonight’s performance
“We know we are a quick team and we really used our quickness to our advantage. I think tonight we just it wanted more.”

Ohio State sophomore guard Caity Matter
On the second half run
“In the first half, I wasn’t coming of my screens as well as I should have. Late in the second half I started to come off my screens better, which resulted in a big second half run.”
