Recap| Box Score| Notes

Ohio State Head Coach Jim O’Brien
On the game
“I think at the end of the first half we were not playing as aggressive as we needed to be, defensively. They shot the ball very well and I cannot remember a game in which I have been associated with a team that has shot so well in a game.”

On the offense
“We still feel the need to go inside to Terence and Velimir so that we can get to the line and that is something we will continue to do.”

On the recent improvements
“I thought we had some stretches in the game where I think we played pretty well. We are progressing nicely and I think we are improving.”

Ohio State junior guard Tony Stockman
On Ohio State’s defense
“I think we kept waiting for them to miss instead of getting out harder and making them miss. In the second half, we picked up, played harder, shot better and guarded better so they were not making all of their shots.”

Ohio State senior center Velimir Radinovic
On Michigan State’s shooting
“They shot lights out. We were soft in the first half. Even when we contested their shots they made them.”

On Michigan State’s defense
“They did nothing special. They had a lot of opportunities, but I think we got enough touches. We didn’t finish plays or play tough enough the whole game.”

Michigan State head coach Tom Izzo
On the game
“We played, shot and executed well. We were also able to move the ball well. I have to give credit to Ohio State in the second half. I knew they would come back and they cut it to 11 points. Ohio State is playing better, but we just shot the ball really well. It wasn’t bad defense, it was just incredible shooting. It was a big win for us and I really have respect for the team.”

On Michigan State’s balanced scoring
“This is what I have been most pleased with on this team. We have done a really good job of moving the ball. We have some talented perimeter players and they are very unselfish. They executed well and passed the ball to open guys.”

Michigan State sophomore guard Paul Davis
On Ohio State’s performance
“I think they guarded well and had some big, experienced post players. They made a couple of easy buckets in the first half that hurt us a little, but for the most part, I think we did what we wanted to do.”

On teammate Kelvin Torbert’s progress
“KT (Kelvin Torbert) is shooting great. He is helping us on defense and will continue to get better throughout the season. KT is a big reason why we’re winning these games.”
