COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State’s No. 1 singles player, Chris Porter (So., Canton, Ohio), lost in the third round of the 24th annual Milwaukee Tennis Classic to Brandon Hawk of the University of Texas, 4-6, 6-2, 6-1. Hawk was the tournament’s number three seed.
The Milwaukee Tennis Classic is one of the nation’s top individual tournaments, with powerhouses such as Duke, Texas A&M and Illinois all having players entered in the event.
The Buckeyes get 1999 rolling with the big Ten Indoor Championship in Madison, Wis. on January 16-18. OSU’s first dual match is scheduled for January 23 against the University of Toledo.
