COLUMBUS, Ohio – The pistol team held an intersquad match Saturday, pitting the varsity women against the varsity men at the Lt. Hugh W. Wylie Range in Converse Hall. The women held on to their three year winning streak by out-pointing the men 1163-1101 by winning the free, air and grand aggregate pistol events while the men won the standard pistol event.

Top shooter in free pistol for the women was Jennifer Trickett (So., Woburn, Ma.) with a 332. A.J. Sayers (Jr., Sunbury, Ohio) shot 322 for the men.

In standard pistol, Jessica Marshall (Sr., Columbus, Ohio) won with a national level score of 543 while Mark Seidelmann (Jr., Columbus, Ohio) was high male with 514.

Air pistol saw Trickett notch another victory with a 374, just two points off the existing national record. For the men, the high score was shot by Anthony Douglass (Fr., Marietta, Ohio) with a 353.

In the coaches’ gender battle, assistant coach Donna Knisley out-pointed head coach James Sweeney, 342 to 332 in air pistol.

Ohio State opens the regular season hosting the Buckeye Invitational Oct. 18-19.
