COLUMBUS, Ohio The National Rifle Association has announced its annual All-American pistol teams following the conclusion of the 2008 NRA Intercollegiate Pistol Championships, held March 10-14 at Fort Benning, Ga. Buckeyes Seth Berglee (Jr., Billings, Mont.), Teresa Meyer (Sr., Dearborn, Mich.) and Krystin Schmid (5th-Sr., Granville, Ohio) each received All-America honors in three events. Berglee was named a first team All-American in free, standard and air pistol. Meyer and Schmid received first team honors in air and sport pistol and were named to the second team in free pistol.
Meyer has earned All-America honors 14 times. She earned first team honors in 2005 in standard, air and sport pistol and was honorable mention in free pistol. In 2006 Meyer was first team in air and sport pistol and second team in standard pistol. Meyer earned first team honors in 2007 in air and sport pistol and was second team in free and standard pistol. Schmid has earned All-America honors six times. She was an honorable mention selection in sport pistol in 2006. Schmid was second team in sport pistol and an honorable mention selection in air pistol in 2007.
At the 2008 Intercollegiate Pistol Championships, Berglee won the open free and open standard events and was third in open air pistol. He finished second in the three-gun aggregate. Meyer won the women’s air and sport events and finished first in the two-gun aggregate. She was fourth in the open standard and sixth in the open air pistol events. Schmid finished fifth in both the women’s air and sport events and was third in the two-gun aggregate. She was seventh in the open free pistol.
The Buckeyes finished second in the open team standings and were third in the women’s team championship.
