Ohio State senior forward Peterson Jerome (Spring Valley, N.Y.) was named the Big Ten Men’s Soccer Player of the Week for his game-winning goal in last Sunday’s 1-0 upset victory against No. 4 Penn State. The win gives OSU sole possession of second place in the Big Ten Jerome has tallied seven goals and four assists for 18 points this season. He has scored four goals against Big Ten opponents, the most on the team, and is tied for second on the team in points.
Last season Jerome finished the year second on the team in points (12) and tied for second in goals (five). He is a transfer from Herkimer County College where he was named an All-American and conference MVP in 1997.
This is the second Big Ten Player of the Week this season for OSU men’s soccer (Brooks Humphreys was named on Sept. 28, 1999).
