COLUMBUS, Ohio — A pair of Buckeyes earned All-Big Ten honors with Baley Parrott being named to the All-Big Ten Team and Katie Burgee selected as a Big Ten Sportsmanship honoree, conference officials announced on Wednesday.

Parrott provided the offensive spark for the Buckeyes in 2018, leading the team in points in six games, and notching the team’s game high in goals in seven games. She tallied hat tricks in seven games, including a streak where she scored at least three goals in five consecutive games.

Her 35 goals this season led the team, and her 2.33 goals-per-game are tied for ninth in the Big Ten. After opening the season with a three-point performance at No. 10 Navy, Parrott got her first hat trick of the season in an overtime contest with Jacksonville where she also came away with five draw controls and three ground balls. She had another huge game at Binghamton, scoring four goals and notching three draws.

After spending nearly a month on the road, Parrott shined when OSU returned to Columbus to host UConn with a three-goal game. She added an assist, two ground balls and a staggering six draw controls in the game. In the very next game Parrott notched a new career high for goals in a game as she found the back of the net five times against Michigan. The junior was a jack of all trades that day, scooping up three ground balls and coming away with four draws as well.

Parrott’s hot streak continued against Rutgers as she posted a three goal, two ground balls and four draws stat line. After another three-goal game against Robert Morris, Parrott notched her seventh hat trick of the season against No. 18 Penn State, while also coming away with five draws.

The junior finished with 47 draw controls this season, just two away from first place on the team. Her 24 ground balls are good for third on the team, and second amongst all field players.

Burgee is wrapping up her Buckeye career this weekend as she’s set to graduate. During her time at OSU she contributed greatly to the team culture, and participated in a Soles4Souls trip to the Dominican Republic in December 2017.
