COLUMBUS, Ohio – Redshirt freshman goalkeeper Parker Siegfried on the Ohio State men’s soccer team was named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week, the conference office announced Tuesday. Siegfried, from Granville, Ohio, earns his first career conference weekly honor.
Siegfried made two saves in the 1-0 win over Northwestern last Friday night to claim his first collegiate shutout. He led a Buckeye defense that limited the Wildcats to eight shots, allowing only two shots on target. Siegfried has collected 15 saves with a .714 save percentage in five starts for the Scarlet and Gray.
The Buckeyes continue Big Ten play tonight at 7 p.m. ET at Penn State in University Park, Pa. The contest will be streamed on BTN Plus ($).
